As you may have already noticed, neighborhoods are being adorned with beautiful lights or ornaments, putting Irvine in the festive holiday spirit. While there are many ways to create personal holiday decor, here are three simple decorations adapted from Pinterest that you can make at an affordable price.

Twinkle in Twilight

This decoration is perfect for anyone who has a pack of fairy lights and a mason jar. Not only is the cost to make one affordable, but it also creates a vintage Christmas vibe that is bound to sparkle in both light and dark environments.

Materials:

1 Mason Jar

1 String of Fairy Lights

Steps:

  1.  Place fairy lights inside the mason jar, spreading out the lights to fill up the space.
  2. Plug the lights on, and enjoy!

Winter Wonderland

If you’re a fan of snow globes, this craft is perfect! Although you may need to make a trip to Michaels for some of the materials, the outcome will be well worth the efforts. This is great to make with your family and friends; have each person pick a unique figurine to make it his or her own!

Materials:

Glitter

Mason Jar

Water

Small plastic figurine of your choice

Hot Glue

Glycerin (optional)

Steps:

  1. Glue the plastic figurine onto the base of the jar.
  2. Fill the jar with water or glycerin.
  3. Add a few teaspoons of glitter on top.
  4. Close the jar tightly.
  5. Shake and enjoy!

Apple Adornment

If you want to decorate your tree with a red theme, this is just the decor you need!

Materials:

Plastic Ornament (or a circular object)

Red Beads (best if they are different shades)

Red Paint

Hot Glue

Red Ribbon (and optional fake green leaves)

Steps:

  1. Paint the ornament or circular object with red paint.
  2. Using the glue gun, glue the beads, starting from the middle of the ball.
  3. Glue the ribbon and leaves to the top of the ball with the hot glue.
  4. Hang up for a burst of red color!
