Seniors Alexia Choi and Kiki Yang discuss the script and blocking positions ahead of the rehearsal. Prioritizing communication was essential to solving any problems that arose in the production process, according to Andrews. “One of the biggest issues we’ve had this year, since the advanced tech classes are split into 4th and 6th period, is that we don’t usually communicate well with each other,” Andrews said. “However, many of the problems that arise can be solved with good communication with all parts. Audio talks with lighting to sync up cues, lighting talks to costumes to make sure colors match, costumes talks to props, etc.”

About the Contributors

Marianne Chan, Assistant Opinion Editor
Marianne Chan is the Assistant Opinion Editor and a Business Manager for their second year on the Portola Pilot. This year, she plans to make the most out of her editing experience and contribute to the News Team while she’s at it. When she’s not having existential crises over her procrastination, you can find them extolling the virtues of Boyish, binging Forensic Files or spamming Stephanie over text.

Stephanie Hwang, Co-News Editor
Stephanie Hwang is the Co-News Editor for her second year on the Portola Pilot. This year, she hopes to juggle the delicate balance between APs and her Pilot duties. When she’s not impulsively signing up for 7 stories, you can find her pranking Marianne with silly stickers or trying to reach a new high score on Crossy Road (it’s 350 right now).
