Recently acquired by UC Irvine this year, the Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA) in Costa Mesa presents the innovative artists and creative thinkers of our time by curating exhibitions to feature works by local artists. Pictured are two of the three life-sized bronze sculptures from Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara’s “I Don’t Want to Grow Up” exhibition, which resides on the museum’s second-floor terrace. The imperfect nature of the original clay material remains evident, and the large, welcoming sculptures remind us that our bodies are capsules of our experiences.

About the Contributor
Kayley Winata, Media Director
Kayley Winata is the Media Director for her third and final year on the Portola Pilot. In the newsroom, you can find her sipping her matcha latte or plotting her next cafe adventure with Nina. When she’s not rotting on Pinterest or procrastinating on deadlines, she’s probably struggling to keep up with the reels Zoha has sent her, crunching on Costco green grapes, or fulfilling her dream of becoming her own personal barista. She’s bittersweet about her last year on Pilot, but she can’t wait for what this year will bring!
