Three holiday items from the most popular fast food chains. These seasonal items are here for a limited time only, and are popular among customers.

During the season of giving, it is not only family and friends who are handing out presents. In early November, the fast-food chains Starbucks, Chick-fil-A and Wendy’s are releasing one of the greatest gifts of all: new holiday menu items.

Starbucks Peppermint Mocha, 8/10.

Starbucks offers a variety of holiday drinks, such as their Iced Gingerbread Oat Milk Chai Latte and their Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte. I tried Starbucks’s Peppermint Mocha. It was extremely hard to tell that there was any espresso in the drink, which I enjoyed. I took a liking to the drink immediately, since it was similar to Hot Chocolate with a dash of peppermint. The drink comes with whipped topping and a plethora of chocolate curls. It has a good ratio of espresso and cream.

Wendy’s Peppermint Frosty, 9/10.

The next drink I tried was from Wendy’s. Wendy’s does not offer as many seasonal drinks as Starbucks, but they do offer the Peppermint Frosty. The Peppermint Frosty does not come with toppings but nonetheless proves that Wendy’s variety of Frosty flavors cannot be topped. The consistency resembles a milkshake, and at first, you can taste a strong but not overpowering minty flavor that is similar to a buttermint. Then you are hit with a creamy, milkier vanilla flavor.

Chick-fil-A’s Peppermint Milkshake, 9.5/10.

The last drink was Chick-fil-A’s Peppermint Milkshake. Like Wendy’s, Chick-fil-A offers just one holiday drink, but the milkshakes’ high quality showed that there was no need for another option. The Peppermint Milkshake came with peppermint bits, whipped cream and a cherry. The peppermint bits were perfectly layered throughout the shake, so that every sip was packed with small pieces of mint. This drink uniquely doesn’t have the aspect of standard Chick-fil-a milkshakes, as there is usually a lot of plain ice cream left at the bottom. This made it even more enjoyable to drink. This milkshake also had a very thick consistency, which the Peppermint Frosty lacked. The peppermint flavor is quite strong in the first sip, but as you continue to drink the shake, you quickly get used to it.

I would definitely recommend these treats to anyone looking for a new favorite holiday drink, if you are looking to try just one, I would recommend the Peppermint Milkshake from Chick-fil-A.
