Chocolate or Candy for Halloween?

Chocolate vs Candy

During Halloween this year, many of us will be giving out sweets to trick-or-treaters. So the question is, which sweets do students prefer: chocolate or candy? Personally, I prefer candy over chocolate because of its variety of taste and options.

Candy has many different sizes, ranging from small to large portions depending on the company. This allows candy to be enjoyed whether you have a big or small appetite. In addition, it has many different types of taste ranging from fruity to mint. This has allowed me to enjoy candy whenever I want a sweet because I have so many different types of candy to choose from.

“Candy has a huge variety, such as hard, soft, sweet, and sour,” freshman Ryan Shattuck said.

Chocolate, on the other hand, is all more or less the same. There is milk chocolate and dark chocolate, but in the end, it is all chocolate, and they all have the same taste. This prevents a variety of flavors in chocolate, which causes it to be less enjoyable for students who wish for more of a variety.

There are also some people who have allergies to chocolate, which prevents them from enjoying it. But for candy, if someone is allergic to a piece of candy, they have many other varieties of candy that they can enjoy without endangering their health.

“There’s more variety [in candy] and each person has different preferences,” sophomore Jaineel Makwana said.

A lot of students are responsible for picking out the sweets that they are going to give out to trick-or-treaters on Halloween. Candy is much better to give out to trick-or-treaters on Halloween because there is a huge variety of options to choose from. Therefore, there is more of a chance that you and the trick-or-treater will be pleased because of all the options.
