Definitely Not LOKI : ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Review
“Avengers: Infinity War” premiered worldwide on April 27 as a sequel to Marvel’s “The Avengers” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” which were released in 2012 and 2015 respectively. Infinity War picks up from the end of “Thor: Ragnarok” as the entire Asgardian population travels through space after the destruction of their home.
The movie starts off with a bang, quickly developing and displaying the power of the titan Thanos, who is the primary antagonist of the movie. With a star-studded roster consisting of every fan’s favorite characters, Marvel Studios quickly shows a willingness to kill off characters who are often fan favorites, pulling on the heartstrings of viewers.
Thanos, played by Josh Brolin, is clearly the most powerful villain Marvel has ever had in its Avengers movies, but his goal is not as sinister as most would believe. The core of Thanos’ philosophies is to rid the world of all its core problems; however, his method involves randomly killing half of the universe’s population, making the threat of his attack an even more formidable fight for the Avengers.
With the movie billed as the ultimate battle where “everyone dies,” the audience is exposed to several tear-jerking, emotional moments that reduce die-hard fans to tears.. Many speculate that major names who “died” in the movie will return in the May 2019 sequel.
“Infinity War” was able to hit its mark in theaters, making an astounding 850 million dollars after only a week of the movie being out. The Marvel Universe is currently at a high of popularity with the groundbreaking movie, “Black Panther” starring Chadwick Boseman as the title character playing a more prominent role in “Infinity War” due to the impact the character has had on the world.
To both die-hard Marvel fans and newcomers to the Marvel Universe, “Avengers: Infinity War” is a clear must-see that truly represents the culmination of all of the previous 18 Marvel films in a single battle against the universe’s most powerful villain to date.
