Homemade Apple Cider
Apple cider is commonly associated with Thanksgiving, a great drink for this upcoming holiday. This recipe will warm your heart and touch your soul as the simple flavors remind you of family and friends.
Ingredients
2 liters of apple juice
3 sticks of cinnamon
1 teaspoon freshly ground cinnamon
1 orange
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon of minced cloves (optional)
Directions
- Slice unpeeled orange into thirds and put in any sized pot.
- Pour apple juice into the same pot and add sticks of cinnamon, ground nutmeg, minced cloves (optional).
- Add ground cinnamon.
- Heat up apple cider on medium heat and stir constantly for about 10-15 minutes.
- Let apple cider cool overnight in fridge.
- Strain and collect the liquid cider using a strainer and collect the cider from the pot.
- If needed, reheat before serving for 10 minutes.
Enjoy with pride as you have now finished your delicious apple cider. Good for one week to two weeks.
