Linger with Luxo on Pixar Pier
Pixar Pier will be a land filled with hints from Pixar movies that will replace Paradise Pier in Disney’s California Adventure Park on June 23. This re-imagined land will offer a wide variety of fun for all. Similar to all of the lands that Disney has to offer, there are plenty of new food items, shops and rides to explore.
“Toy Story” and “The Incredibles” are among many movies that will gain recognition by having rides and shops dedicated to them. “Toy Story Midway Mania” will remain, while “King Triton’s Carousel” will be replaced with “Jessie’s Critter Carousel” featuring animal characters from “Woody’s Roundup.”
“King Triton’s Carousel” and “California Screamin” have been popular attractions ever since California Adventure park opened in 2001, so it was surprising to many guests that these rides will be changed. The “Mickey Fun Wheel” will be replaced with the “Pixar Pal-A-Round” ferris wheel with gondolas that feature popular Pixar characters.
“Incredicoaster” is another ride that will blast guests to the neighborhood of the Incredibles. This ride will improve “California Screamin” with a whole new appearance. Far beyond color theme changes or innovated line queue, the “Incredicoaster” will also feature three dark enclosed parts on the ride where projections of the Incredibles will showcase a new story.
Pixar Pier will feature many imaginative desserts that are able to satisfy anybody’s sweet tooth. “Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff Confectionary” will transport guests to a sugar wonderland. “Poultry Palace,” “Señor Buzz Churros” and “Angry Dogs” are new quick-service restaurants. “Poultry Palace” and “Señor Buzz Churros” are Toy Story-Themed while “Angry Dogs” is based on “Inside Out.” The famous “Cove Bar” will be innovated to the “Lamplight Lounge.”
“Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats” opened April 30, where guests can order soft-serve ice cream. The Pixar Pier Parfait has lemon soft-serve and blue raspberry slush.
Whether it is eating a snack at “Angry Dogs” or experiencing a thrilling new ride such as “The Incredicoaster,” Pixar Pier will hold a special place in many guests’ hearts and create memories for everybody to enjoy.
