Post Malone’s second album has already hit large numbers of sales, perhaps indicating a successful publication of music.

Young and up-and-coming hip hop artist Post Malone released his second studio album on April 27 titled “beerbongs & bentleys”. The album’s lead single, the major hit “Rockstar,” featured rapper 21 Savage and topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts for eight weeks with over 1 billion streams on Spotify.

Post Malone has jumped on the scene as one of the more iconic hip hop artists of the new generation with “White Iverson” and “Congratulations” from his first album “Stoney” making him reach prominence in the music industry. “beerbongs & bentleys” is already on top of the Billboard 200 Albums chart and all 18 songs in the album are currently in the Billboard Hot 100, with nine songs in the top 20 which is a world record according to Billboard.

The album features many collaborations between Post Malone and high-profile artists such as Swae Lee, 21 Savage, Ty Dolla $ign, Nicki Minaj and G-Eazy. Post Malone is able to effectively combine his rapping style with changes in the beat of the song to get listeners even more involved in the song as shown in “Paranoid”.

Although he is rapping, Post Malone’s lyrics are easy to sing along with, relatable to his target demographic and speaks to the way that music is an artistic representation of a person’s thoughts. “Better Now” from the album serves as one of the better representatives of these styles in the album talking about the nostalgia of a breakup and the realities of the struggles and regrets in relationships.

Although “beerbongs & bentleys” is explicit, which may not appeal to all listeners, this is one of the few albums in which every song is genuinely worth listening to and is great music to vibe to, whether studying or relaxing at home. Post Malone’s amazing rise to stardom reflects the unique shift in the hip hop industry to new artists, and it will be interesting as fans wait for his next album, which is sure to be another hit.
