Spice up the Season with the Top 3 Fall-Themed Starbucks Drinks
The resurgence of sweaters and boots in the crisp morning air means that fall is finally here. It now seems like the final accessory for any fall outfit is a Starbucks drink in hand.
With an entire fall menu of options, I took on the task of rating the top three fall-themed drinks at Starbucks, taking into account flavor, sweetness, and how much it resembles fall-in-a-cup.
Note: I usually prefer caffeine-free drinks, so I will mainly be reviewing the cream-based (also known as coffee-free) versions. Though, their coffee counterparts are still delicious.
3) Caramel Brulée Latte: ($3.75 for a Tall)
This latte is perfect for those who enjoy a stronger taste of coffee balanced with the sweetness of caramel. I prefer this latte coffee-free, which brings out the flavor of the syrup. Though this latte may seem too sweet to some, I enjoy the warm sugary flavor, which is the first thing that hits you as you take a sip. The subtle hint of vanilla pairs perfectly with the caramel, making it a clear Starbucks fall classic.
2) Pumpkin Steamer: ($4.25 for a Tall)
A coffee-free version of the classic Pumpkin Spice Latte, this drink highlights the sweet pumpkin and other fall flavors. My favorite part of the Pumpkin Steamer is that the flavor comes like a wave, subdued at first, building into sweet pumpkin spice, then slowly ebbing away to a subtle aftertaste. The drink is like a burst of pumpkin spice in your mouth, leaving you feeling cozy and warm. I highly suggest drinking it with whipped cream, which adds another velvety dimension of flavor to the Pumpkin Steamer.
1) Maple Pecan Latte: ($4.25 for a Tall)
The warm smell of maple greets you as you raise the cup to take a sip. The sweetness is the next thing you experience: more rich in flavor than the Caramel Brulée, the drink fills you with a sense of coziness and warmth. It instantly reminds you of a walk in the forest in the crisp autumn morning air. After you swallow, it feels as if you just ate a bite of warm pecan pie. The Maple Pecan Latte truly deserves the number one spot on this list of top fall-themed Starbucks drinks.
