Housing a 150-seat auditorium, a central courtyard, and pathways leading to the School of Medicine’s Biomedical Research Center, the new UCI health complex will consist of buildings such as the Sue and Bill Gross School of Nursing and the proposed School of Population Health.
The University of California, Irvine (UCI) started construction this month on their first integrative health sciences building, which will incorporate elements like research, teaching and patient care. UCI is investing $185 million in the project, and it will occupy 9 acres of the campus. The facility will house the university’s schools of medicine, pharmacy, nursing and public health. It aims to promote interdisciplinary and holistic medical education through collaborative study spaces and clinical environments.
